The latest story under creation is Heaven for the Weather.
This involves Tyler (the main character) and a group of others including Wolf, Panther, Stork, Stag, Cougar, Mare, Jackal and Kingfisher. They are named after animals in order to hide their real names. It's part of the huge conspiracy surrounding the world on which they live.
This story was written as part of a task in my novel class at uni. We were told to remember a song, take words from said song and then create a 500 word story from those words. I came up with 'Have Gun, Will Travel' by The Audition and couldn't stop seeing the image of the lead singer in a hood, walking down a dark path in a forest with a smile like a wolf, hence he became Wolf, the leader of the group.
Heaven for the Weather has been a difficult story. Although the first chapter came of its own free will, the characters have proved to be somewhat lazy and reclusive. They still walk behind me like the others but they do so as if I were the one that wanted them to be there. Tyler is particularily frustrating. Although the story is written from her point of view she has such a meagre impact on it that she's a little resentful of me. She sulks.
Wolf, on the other hand, is silent but deadly. He is a stalker. He lops along in my shadow with his sweet-as-candy smile and pokes me when he wants attention. The rest of the group are his pawns and he uses them to keep an eye on me at all times. It bugs the hell out of me. Wolf and his group are like last night's dream, you know it happened but you can't for the life of you remember what went on. I get such a horrible feeling that he and Tyler get up to all sorts of adventures, but they won't tell me about them!
Chrissie is never like that, and she's over 200 pages now.
