Welcome, Welcome, Welcome
This is a test of the
Minor Emergency Misscommunication Information Examination System
(MEMIES)
(FYI, real name is Sara)
As a writer there are several things deemed quite normal in such an industry that would otherwise be cause for concern in the 'real' world. An example of such is the tendency for a writer to develop relationships with their fictional characters, to have long conversations with them, to argue with them at the top of their mental voice. This is particularily true with those of us taken to delving into the fantasy world, although it can also include those writers that have scorned the non-fiction section of their local library. It is natural and accepted for writers to sometimes fall in love with their books, as one of my university teachers has explained. No matter how good or bad or downright dull the work is, a writer can love it like that mother of the ugly person we all comment on at some point in our lives. It is esspecially prelevent in first-time writers.
My inclusion into this field of fiction comes from the forceful voices of my own characters, and I do mean to call them 'forceful'.
Where some writers come home after a long day, sit down to the computer and happy jump back into the conversation started yesterday, I tend to be jealous. My characters wander along behind me everywhere I go like malignant puppies and never seem to shut up. I can drown them out as much as I want, but it only leads them to become quite indignant when I finally give in that I have missed their glorious rant on the difficulties of their world. I quite often find myself, usually without conscious approval, being pulled into their world to watch some event pass, or even just to talk to them. They get lonely watching me ignoring them. Some walk in front of cars when I'm paying even the slightest attention, knowing a full hour will suddenly be devoted to their thralls of agony. Chrissie in particular is quite prone to this. She has died several times since she was created and each time I ressurect her it is only to despair over her complete lack of affection for her fictional self. She's going to break her plot one day, I swear.
So, moving on to the purpose of MEMIES.
This is where I will come to rant about these frustrating people behind me, and the problems associated with their development. Being a writer, a teenager and university student, this may sway from fantasy to reality at its own explicit will. If nothing else it is all a learning curve, as it should be.
And here is where I play at art!
